The earthquake in Haiti has brought the world together for a country known for its corruption and poverty. It took a devastating natural disaster for a change that would not have happened otherwise. Sad, but true. Despite the horrific damages to a country use to a level of poverty we could never imagine, this was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

The recent killing of a young boy in Chicago has highlighted the need for parents to take more responsibility and control of their kids. This is the lost generation, the one that got away.

Have you ever thought of a better way to really express yourself? I mentioned time and time again that music is one of the best realms to really ingrain into your soul to display your inner most desires to come to life. Some people like to turn on their boom boxes and crank up the volume or download music from iTunes and just simply sing along. That’s all fine and dandy, but one fun way to unleash your musical passion is singing karaoke.

Can you think of anyone who takes a week vacation and not stay in a hotel or a resort, but instead spends a week doing work on a farm? Of course, that would be me. Spending a week in the outskirts of Saskatoon was certainly a unique and rewarding experience. Most people had stunned reactions when I told them where I was staying for a week.

What have you got to lose? Everything.

Corporate downsizing, job insecurity, job loss, bankruptcy, pay reduction, increase in cost of living, higher utility bills, higher taxes, escalating food prices, etc. etc. etc.

We are now living in a time when all of the above are affecting our families and friends. The anxiety, worry and dread of falling into debt or not being able to afford your children’s education, health care, mortgage, car payment is taking its toll on hard working people like you and me. It will only get worse until the economy improves, by that time, many of us will have lost our jobs, homes, and most importantly, a financially secure future.

Where have you heard this before? Well, probably everywhere. The internet is jam-packed with all varieties of “Get rich quick” and “Make $10,000 a month” schemes. I have researched many of them and realized why so many people avoid them like the plague while others get sucked into these schemes with the promise of making a lot of money. Most quit and many half-heartedly invest their time and effort into a business that provides little incentive, training and support.
