The earthquake in Haiti has brought the world together for a country known for its corruption and poverty. It took a devastating natural disaster for a change that would not have happened otherwise. Sad, but true. Despite the horrific damages to a country use to a level of poverty we could never imagine, this was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Can you think of anyone who takes a week vacation and not stay in a hotel or a resort, but instead spends a week doing work on a farm? Of course, that would be me. Spending a week in the outskirts of Saskatoon was certainly a unique and rewarding experience. Most people had stunned reactions when I told them where I was staying for a week.

Whoever has been to Thailand knows just what I mean when I say that it is one of the most beautiful countries in SE Asia. Besides having some of the most awesome beaches, great food at reasonable prices and a reliable transportation system, the Thais are still very much the gracious hosts.
