Have you ever thought of a better way to really express yourself? I mentioned time and time again that music is one of the best realms to really ingrain into your soul to display your inner most desires to come to life. Some people like to turn on their boom boxes and crank up the volume or download music from iTunes and just simply sing along. That’s all fine and dandy, but one fun way to unleash your musical passion is singing karaoke. Every now and then I head over to the Old Admiral Pub on Monday nights to join my friends for wild and crazy singing. I must admit I don’t have the best voice but I just go for the fun of it. Of course, some people can sing better and are more talented than others. But just the feeling of singing karaoke can purge your stress of the regular day-to-day routine and an easy way to forget the tough times you experience. You never know. You could be surprised at your own talent unless you have yourself recorded and see it for yourself, and compare your talents with the original artists. Also the Old Admiral Pub recently had a contest carefully watched by prominent music judges from across Canada. I didn’t even come close to becoming a finalist. But the truth is, I participated to enjoy myself, have fun and have good laughs. One particular night I volunteered to do a kamikaze, where you go up to sing and the DJ selects the song for you, and you won’t know what the song is until you get up on stage. Gladly the DJ picked a good song I can relate to and I sang a duet with my friend you’ll see in the following viewing below. (I am the man, of course). Karaoke night at the Old Admiral Pub is located on 4125 East Hastings St, Burnaby, BC, Canada. So come on down and find out if you can qualify to be a contestant on American Idol!
