Chicago Blues
The recent killing of a young boy in Chicago has highlighted the need for parents to take more responsibility and control of their kids. This is the lost generation, the one that got away. We, as parents are the reason why kids have tuned out and tuned in to their ipods, cell phones, video games, etc. They have lost the ability to communicate and socialize with their peers and with adults. Parental guidance needs to be redefined. Priorities need to be in place for children to learn and follow and we need to be the example for them. This is not only the fault of parents, but with society as a whole. Therefore, society needs to look at itself and get back to basic values that teach simple things such as courtesy, kindness, understanding, patience and common sense. These values have disappeared and the result is anarchy and social dysfunction. So wake up people!
There is a war going on and it affects everyone. Spend time with your kids, speak out about injustice, crime, racial hate and be a role model that we can all aspire to….especially the kids. Let’s not lose this generation, they are the future.
