I applaud WalMart’s Marketing and Advertising campaigns. They have somehow bamboozled the American consumer into believing that they are saving money, supporting the local economy and providing jobs. At what cost? Sure, consumers can save a few pennies on a pair of flip flops or a few dollars on clothing or on other purchases. What about the job losses, the salary cuts, the collapse of the manufacturing base, manufacturers moving their operations to China? The Chinese produce shoddy, dangerous goods that kill, maim and pollute. They flaunt safety regulations at home and abroad, or just ignore them. WalMart is culpable for allowing this to happen, in fact they have spearheaded the flight of Manufacturers and Producers to China. Corporate greed has allowed this to happen. But, American consumers continue to flock to WalMart to save a few pennies here and there. All this at the cost of “Made In America”. All at the cost of lost jobs and destroyed lives. Wake up American consumer. You can save a few pennies here and  a dollar there, but without a job and income even WalMart will be too expensive for you to shop at.
